Zappa
Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jukka Iisakkila - Tampere Hall
Program Info: Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra Jukka Iisakkila, conductor Marzi Nyman, guitar and vocals Arttu Takalo, percussions
American Frank Zappa (1940–1993) is known as a musician and composer who forged his own path in the world of music. The concert will feature works from his extensive repertoire, including the most popular material, modern orchestral and chamber music, film, electronic music and jazz.
“Zappa’s individualism and sharp criticism of all areas of human activity continually led to conflicts with the outside world. On the other hand, forging his own way and remaining outside the musical community led him to develop many innovative, inventive, and exceptional musical concepts and approaches. These factors shaped Zappa’s musical language and aesthetics in a very unique way”, says conductor Jukka Iisakkila.
In the concert, you will hear Zappa’s legendary music, like Peaches En Regalia, Bobby Brown, Sofa, Bob in Dacron and Sad Jane, Strictly Genteel, The Idiot Bastard Song, Dangerous Kitchen, and more! *Programme may be subject to change
