New Adventures - KS1 Somerset Concert
Ensemble from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra - Westlands
Program Info: Calling all KS1 schools in Somerset - join us for an exciting free concert and to explore the great, vast unknown, and to uncover new adventures.
Designed especially for a KS1 audience, this 1-hour presented concert, features an ensemble of fourteen musicians from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Performing a fun new programme, ‘New Adventures’ will showcase the instruments of the orchestra and explore how musicians and composers have stretched the boundaries of music to explore and discover the vast open spaces of our world. The concert will also showcase a participatory song co-created with students from Somerset.
The performance will support the KS1 area of the curriculum and will give children a valuable concert experience, taking them on a musical journey from orchestral classics, well known music from film and musicals, and popular jazz numbers.
This concert will be preceded by a CPD session, which will take place on Thursday 23rd January between 4.30-6pm at Westlands, Yeovil. Schools attending the concerts, are invited to send staff members to the session to learn the participatory song and other tips and tricks for the classroom.
