Klassik am Dom: John Williams “Across the Stars”
Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Lina González-Granados - Domplatz Linz
Program Info: Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Lina González-Granados, conductor Anne-Sophie Mutter - violin
John Williams' music takes on the crazy challenge of feeding and amplifying the success of the films to which it is the soundtrack, and of experiencing an independent life in concert halls. Violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter is an unconditional fan and a performer of choice. She has formed a close bond with the American composer, who notably dedicated his second violin concerto to her in 2021 and requested her for the latest Indiana Jones film. Exalted by these pages with global success and no less demanding for the orchestra – which he recorded in 2007 – the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is naturally on board. At its head, the vitality and charisma of the young Colombian conductor Lina González-Granados, already coveted by the greatest American orchestras, works wonders.
