KiezPalast: City Life
hr-Sinfonieorchester conducted by Frank Strobel - Alte Oper
Program Info: hr symphony orchestra Frank Strobel, conductor Katja Riemann, moderation, recitation, acting, singing
From the manageable city of Frankfurt we set off for the metropolises of the world. In the KiezPalast, our original surprise concert revue format, we roam the simmering streets of New York, sophisticated Paris or the dance salons of Buenos Aires together with the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. City guide is Katja Riemann, who, as an actress, singer and author, enjoys traveling in various genres and disciplines. It leads through a musical-literary-semi-scenic program that tells of the fascination of urban life as well as its dark sides. About intoxication, dense impressions and unlimited possibilities, but also about the longing for balance in nature. And anyway: What should a livable city of the future actually look like? The KiezPalast devotes itself to the many facets of this topic in a humorous way, moving musically and literary from classical to chanson and from ancient times to the present.
