When Fish Begin To Crawl in concert
Royal Scottish National Orchestra - New Auditorium, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall
Program Info: Jim Sutherland - When Fish Begin To Crawl
Celebrate the Flow Country’s recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a live orchestral performance of the film triptych “When Fish Begin to Crawl”.
Co-presented with Glasgow Film Festival, this immersive cinematic experience features the Orchestra performing Jim Sutherland’s multi award winning score against three huge screens, with the international award-winning film by Sutherland and BAFTA winner Morag McKinnon.
Sutherland, whose music has influenced three generations of Scottish artists, won ten best music awards for his score and the film itself has won several awards for best eco film and best music film.
A unique blend of music, science and film invites us on a journey from the formation of galaxies to the emergence of life on Earth, the interconnection that redefines our human place in nature and highlighting the vital role of The Flow Country in the health of our planet. This ancient landscape represents the most complete and extensive example of an intact and natural blanket bog ecosystem globally.
