Program Info: The Prague Film Orchestra, a symphonic musical ensemble founded by conductors Jiří Korynt and Zdenka Koryntová in 2004, has specialized in concert performance of film, serial, musical and video game music throughout its existence. During each season, the troupe performs in concert halls, cultural centers and cinemas, especially in the Czech Republic and simultaneously in Slovakia. The orchestra consisting of an average of 70 players, led by the conductor Jiří Korynto, always emphasizes the maximum authenticity of the speech and presentation of individual compositions. In its extensive and constantly expanding repertoire of several hundred titles, one can find works by famous composers such as John Williams, Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein, Bernard Hermann, Howard Shore, Alan Silvestri, Hans Zimmer, John Powell, David Arnold and many others. . Songs and suites from films from the Star Wars saga, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Stargate, The Magnificent Seven, Psycho, Back to the Future, The Avengers, Pearl Harbor and others are among the regulars in the programs of individual concerts. However, one or more premieres appear almost regularly at each concert in programs sensitively selected in terms of dramaturgy. Thanks to the large genre selection, which is almost unlimited, everyone will find "their" thing at the concerts. With its mission to bring the beauty and diversity of the world of film music closer, the Prague Film Orchestra expands the ranks of its loyal listeners and spectators with concerts in a more intimate spirit, which are prepared by its PFO Strings, PFO Sextet and Pop Symphony dance orchestras.
