Fables and Fugues
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jebat Kee - Dewan Filharmonik Petronas
Spend a quality family afternoon with the MPO and be entertained by an unexpected blend of tales and music as the MPO brings to life, Dorff’s Three Fun Fables to pique interest in the young as they learn about music and discover orchestral instruments. Listen to the tales of The Fox and the Crow (with trumpet and contrabass), The Dog and his Reflection (trombone and violin/harp/percussion) and The Tortoise and the Hare (contrabassoon and clarinet). Conducted by Jebat Kee and collaborating with Sara Valentine and Michael Boudewyns from Really Inventive Stuff group. The MPO will commence the concert with Mozart's Toy Symphony and conclude with Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.
Programme to include: Wolfgang Amadeus - Toy Symphony Daniel Dorff - Three Fun Fables Benjamin Britten - Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra opus 34: composed in 1946 to accompany an educational film produced by the British government and featured in the Oscar-nominated film Moonrise Kingdom
