Program Info: The right of women to work was not self-evident for a long time. The prevailing view that only men should be breadwinners and women should provide care was the norm. For example, the Dutch law declaring married women 'unable to work' was only repealed in 1956.
NSFF dedicates this compilation program to all working women. From domestic servants to factory workers, from artists, anthropologists to farmers. In addition, this program pays tribute to women who stood in front of and behind the camera in the earliest decades of our film history.
