How To Train Your Dragon in Concert
City Light Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kevin Griffiths - KKL

Program Info:
John Powell - How To Train Your Dragon

City Light concerts are pleased to be presenting “How to Train Your Dragon” again at the KKL Lucerne in response to popular audience requests. Experience the magic of this heartwarming 2010 masterpiece in HD on the big screen as John Powell's score is performed live and integrally by the City Light Symphony Orchestra and the London Voices.

DreamWorks' "How to Train Your Dragon" is a captivating and original story that combines humor, fiery action and epic adventure. When the young Viking Hiccup breaks with his people's anti-dragon traditions and befriends the fierce dragon Toothless, they must fight together against all odds and prejudices to save their two worlds.

John Powell's versatile film music, characterised by Scottish musical colour, accompanies the adventures of Hiccup and Toothless with strong musical leitmotiv. Powell masterfully weaves these into thunderous action, flickering romance and light-hearted humour, resulting in a rousing, large-orchestral film score.

With “How to Train Your Dragon” – in Concert, this award-winning film shines in all its glory, while the 90-member City Light Symphony Orchestra and the ladies and gentlemen of the London Voices perform the Oscar-nominated film music by John Powell under the direction of Kevin Play Griffiths.

A thrilling film and concert experience for young and old!

Film in English, with German subtitles
