A Night at the Movies
Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Michael Bell - New Theatre Cardiff
Program Info: Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Michael Bell MBE return after their sell-out debut here at the theatre in January 2024 with another concert of fantastic music from popular films.
This year’s programme includes the Welsh Premiere of music from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the final film in the epic series of nine Star Wars films with music by the great John Williams.
We also celebrate the 60th anniversary of Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins, and mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of composer Henry Mancini with his music for The Pink Panther and the sublime Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. There’ll also be the immensely moving Hymn to the Fallen from Steven Spielberg’s Saving Private Ryan and selections from musicals Oliver! and Aladdin. And there’s much more besides!
