Casino Royale – in Concert
City Light Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kevin Griffiths - KKL
Program Info: David Arnold - Casino Royale
With “Casino Royale” James Bond 007 can once again be experienced as an integral film-music spectacle. While the tough spy thriller shines on the big screen, the City Light Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Kevin Griffiths plays the gripping film music by composer David Arnold live for the film!
In 2006, EON Productions and MGM achieved a spectacular reboot of the Bond franchise with “Casino Royale”. The 21st Bond film became the most successful part of the long-running series at the time. In addition, actor Daniel Craig made his debut as the legendary MI6 agent in “Casino Royale,” with his performance receiving much praise from fans and critics.
Directed by Martin Campbell, “Casino Royale” tells of Bond’s turbulent start to his career. Newly given the 00 status and the license to kill, Bond is sent to meet Le Chiffre (Mads Mikkelsen), the unscrupulous financier of terrorist activities.
The hunt for Le Chiffre takes Bond from the Malagasy jungle to the beautiful sandy beaches of the Bahamas and finally to the luxurious Casino Royale in Montenegro, where gigantic stakes lead to a showdown at the poker table.
The fast-paced finale takes place in a breathtaking chase on the Grand Canal in Venice. Bond is accompanied by the beautiful British treasury agent Vesper Lynd (Eva Green). She has been tasked with keeping a close eye on 007 while he plays poker with big stakes against Le Chiffre. But it doesn't stop there, because Bond also gets involved in a dangerous liaison with Lynd.
“Casino Royale” – in Concert, the first part of the new James Bond Concert Series , was produced by Film Concerts Live! produced in collaboration with EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios (MGM).
