The evening features iconic musical works that capture the essence of adventure, exploration, and the grandeur of the great outdoors.
Delight in the sweeping melodies of John Williams’ The Cowboys Overture, a vibrant and energetic piece that evokes the excitement of life on the trail. Relive the heroic grandeur of the Old West with Elmer Bernstein’s unforgettable score from The Magnificent Seven, a stirring tribute to courage and camaraderie.
Experience the breathtaking beauty of the American Southwest with Ferde Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite, a masterful depiction of the canyon's majesty through music. From the serene dawn to the vibrant colors of sunset, Grofé’s composition will transport you to one of nature’s most awe-inspiring wonders.
We are also thrilled to present Ghost Ranch by living composer Michael Daugherty, a powerful and evocative piece inspired by the rugged landscapes and legendary stories of the American West.
In a special treat, the Dearborn Youth Symphony will join us for our annual side-by-side concert, performing the stirring main theme from the popular television series Yellowstone. Their performance will also feature Aaron Copland’s lively and rhythmic Rodeo, a work that captures the spirit and energy of the American West like no other.
