Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush
Tucson Symphony Orchestra conducted by Julian Pellicano - Fox Tucson Theatre
Program Info: Charles Chaplin - The Gold Rush
The Fox Tucson Theatre and Tucson Symphony Orchestra are proud to present The Gold Rush. Enjoy Charlie Chaplin’s masterpiece as you’ve never seen it before with the score (including music by Chaplin himself!) performed live by the TSO under the direction of Julian Pellicano.
In this classic silent comedy, considered one of Chaplin’s best films, the Little Tramp (Charlie Chaplin) heads north to join in the Klondike gold rush. Trapped in a small cabin by a blizzard, the Tramp is forced to share close quarters with a successful prospector (Mack Swain) and a fugitive (Tom Murray). Eventually able to leave the cabin, he falls for a lovely barmaid (Georgia Hale), trying valiantly to win her affections. When the prospector needs help locating his claim, it appears the Tram’s fortunes may change.
This concert will transport you to an era of Hollywood where silent film stars made the screen come alive. The classic film, paired with live music, makes this an event you won’t want to miss!
