Program Info: Gustavo Santaolalla is one of the uncrowned kings of contemporary film music. The Argentinian composer and musician refinedly mixes the epic with the intimate, and the mythical with the everyday.
Santaolalla's work conjures up images of wild landscapes and inhospitable regions. It is therefore not surprising that the makers of series, films and games such as Narcos , The Last of Us , On the Road , The Book of Life , Freak Power: The Ballot of the Bomb and Brokeback Mountain, turned to him for their soundtracks. The music of the latter film even earned Santaolalla an Oscar for best film music.
Gustavo Santaolalla celebrates the 25th anniversary of his album Ronroco, one of the highlights from Santaolalla's extensive oeuvre. Supported by his new band with five multi-instrumentalists, he brings the work to life for the first time in a live setting. In addition to Ronroco, you can expect many other iconic compositions from the aforementioned games, films and series.
