Program Info: Peter Pan Director: Herbert Brenon Year: 1924 Production country: United States Cast: Betty Bronson, Ernest Torrence, Mary Brian, Virginia Brown Faire, Esther Ralston, Anna May Wong Length: 105 minutes
The first and one of the most enchanting film adaptations of this classic play. This film was the direct inspiration for Walt Disney to make his version of PETER PAN and it is easy to recognise which parts of the film inspired him. PETER PAN was also one of the first films on which legendary costume designer Edith Head and cinematographer James Wong Howe collaborated. The beautiful special effects to make Peter Pan and little Tinkerbell (Virginia Brown Faire) fly, the beautiful sets and the great acting of Betty Bronston as Peter Pan and Ernest Torrence (previously seen at the NSFF in Buster Keaton's STEAMBOAT BILL JR) as Captain Hook, make this film still just as magical exactly 100 years later.
