FORBIDDEN PARADISE is a beautiful collaboration between two greats of silent film: director Ernst Lubitsch and actress Pola Negri. The film also features one of Clark Gable's very first film roles. This sensual drama, with a lot of humor, tells the story of Empress Catherine the Great, her loneliness and deep desires. After almost 100 years, this film can finally be seen in its entirety again in a new restoration. An absolute must-see for every (silent) film lover.
