Homage to Ennio Morricone
Orchestra Ritmico Sinfonica italiana conducted by Diego Basso - Teatro Malibran
Program Info: On the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's death, the song Marco Polo Main Theme composed by Morricone in the 80s will be on the programme.
On stage the forty members of the Italian Symphonic Rhythm Orchestra directed by Maestro Diego Basso to pay homage to the genius of Ennio Morricone, retracing with sound the films that have made the history of cinema. The musical project “Homage to Ennio Morricone” was conceived by Maestro Basso in 2004. Twenty years later it somehow returns to the origins of the musical project dedicated to Morricone, bringing it back to its exclusively symphonic version. With a profound knowledge of the instruments of the orchestra, Director Diego Basso has conducted numerous concerts dedicated to the universe of the Roman composer, in what is considered the most beautiful music of our time, capable of reaching and involving audiences of all generations. Compositions that are rooted in the collective memory like the film scenes that Morricone's music contributed to making famous. From the composer's long and incomparable collaboration with Sergio Leone, up to his most recent film production.
