Van Morricone tot Aznavour
Eric Vloeimans (trompet) en Jörg Brinkman (cello) - Theater Griffioen
Program Info: The Vloeimans' world is big! He plays with major orchestras such as the Marine Band and Holland Baroque, with the ensembles Gatecrash and HOTSPOT! and also in smaller line-ups with his trios Levanter and Oliver's Cinema. The duo is also one of Vloeimans' favorite line-ups formation, in which the intimate, atmospheric aspects of his music are optimally achieved come into their own – as convincingly demonstrated in his duos with a harpist Remy van Kesteren, flamenco guitarist Eric Vaarzon Morel, accordionist Will Holshouser and pianist Juan Pablo Dobal.
A musician with whom Vloeimans feels closely connected is the German improviser Jörg Brinkmann, an all-rounder on his cello. He irons, picks, and even plays 'guitar' on it. He also knows how to use electronics to create rich soundscapes and grooving loops that arise on the spot. Since Vloeimans & Brinkmann met each other through Composer Laureate Martin Fondse, they have often worked together. Combine in their new program both musicians have their own work with compositions by Ennio Morricone and the heritage of Charles Aznavour.
Facts > Brinkmann is part of the successful trio Oliver's Cinema and played an important role in Vloeiman's music for the film Wild Port of Europe. > Wild Port of Europe toured season 22-23 in Dutch theaters and for the CD of the same name Vloeimans an Edison nomination.
