Program Info: The Simple Music Ensemble World will perform melodies from the world-famous anime "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" by Hayao Miyazaki.
This is one of Hayao Miyazaki's early works, now considered a classic of world animation. The director created a dangerous, post-apocalyptic world where Nausicaä, a brave young girl, becomes the last hope for humanity's peaceful coexistence with nature and each other.
The brilliant music of composer Joe Hisaishi, undoubtedly considered Miyazaki's co-author, has become an integral part of this world. Hisaishi, known for favoring minimalism in his works, from time to time allows himself to plunge into the world of new age music and to draw inspiration from melodic classics.
