Classics of Film Music
Heilbronner Sinfonie Orchester conducted by Alois Seidlmeier - Konzert- und Kongresszentrum Harmonie Heilbronn, Theodor-Heuss-Saal
Program Info: A rousing concert with classics of film music. With works by Ennio Morricone, Bernard Herrmann, John Williams, John Barry, Max Steiner and others
At the end of the concert series, our almost traditional concert with masterpieces of film music awaits you, and once again the pieces presented will prove that soundtracks can also work perfectly on the concert stage - provided the quality is right! Look forward to an authentic western atmosphere with Ennio Morricone's immortal soundtrack to “Once upon a time in the West”, where the harmonica and solo soprano immediately create the corresponding images of the North American desert in your head; luxuriate in the opulent sounds of Max Steiner's “Gone with the Wind” music, experience over half a century of spy history in a rousing James Bond suite, and meet characters as diverse as Harry Potter, ET, and John Williams' unmistakable handwriting Indiana Jones.
Perhaps not the most famous, but in the opinion of many critics the most brilliant film music composer died exactly 50 years ago: Bernard Herrmann. We take this anniversary as an opportunity to present his music for Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo", the masterpiece that was voted the best film of all time by American film critics in 2012 and which owes much of its hypnotic effect to Bernard Herrmann's unmistakable music.
Let yourself be surprised by what other films will be shown and get ready for an evening full of emotions - music with Hollywood sound, made for the big screen!
