Ennio Morricone
MDR-Sinfonieorchester conducted by Frank Strobel - Gewandhaus

Program Info:
Enrico Morricone is a legend of film music and has immortalized himself in the memories of film buffs worldwide with scores for films such as "Play Me the Song of Death", "The Mission" and "The Hateful Eight". But the range of his work also includes numerous works for the concert hall - for orchestra, choir and chamber ensembles. It is thanks to Frank Strobel and his team at the European Film Philharmonic that these compositions are now also accessible. In this concert we present the famous and the lesser-known side of a genius.
