Jastrzębia Góra
(Poland)

19th International Summer Music Festival "Word and Music at the Jesuits"
Bogdan Narloch – organ & Roman Gryń – trumpet - Church of St. Ignacy Loyola

Program Info:
The picturesque Jastrzębia Góra, far from cultural and economic centres, thanks to the organization of the International Summer Music Festival "Word and Music at the Jesuits" has become a dynamically developing centre of musical culture, the centre of which is the Jastrzębia Góra Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola. The organised performances are intended to encourage multi-generational families to experience high culture. This is facilitated by the diverse repertoire and free admission to all festival concerts.
The series of events not only constitutes a significant contribution to the development of national culture in Poland, but is also a significant forum for exchanging contacts between artists from domestic and foreign music centres, which results in an increase in the importance of Polish culture in Western Europe. Participation in concerts of outstanding authorities - artists of various denominations, nationalities, presenting diverse performance practices - gives the opportunity to present organ music and others in an interesting and original way.
The "Word, Music and Jesuits" Festival in Jastrzębia Góra (co-organised by the Polish Baltic Philharmonic) accompanies the International Organ Music Festival in Oliwa. The Jesuit festival already has its tradition and loyal concert audience.
