Program Info: Join the UK’s most popular classical music station for a night of the greatest classical music performed live.
Classic FM presenters will be on stage to host this special concert centred around great British classics. Musical highlights include Ralph Vaughan Williams’s majestic The Lark Ascending, part of Elgar’s extraordinary Enigma Variations, and the soaring Spitfire Prelude and Fugue from the 1942 movie The First of the Few by William Walton. The rich and varied programme will also feature music by Hamish MacCunn, Doreen Carwithen and George Frideric Handel.
This very special concert, celebrating some of the most famous classical music composed within our shores, is performed by the renowned Philharmonia Orchestra – an official partner of Classic FM – and conducted by Ben Palmer. Dramatic lights and fireworks and the mighty Royal Albert Hall Organ will accompany the musicians in a stunning finale.
