We will feature a variety of loveable and iconic movie music, from pieces that were written for the Silver Screen and great classical music that made its way there on its own merits. We are thrilled to welcome back Konstantin Soukhovetski on piano, performing everyone’s favorite, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, celebrating the 100 year anniversary of this famous composition. Konstantin will further delight us with a movement from his first symphony, Once Upon a Spring.
It is our tradition to come in costume to this fall Masterworks/Pops concert. The orchestra and Maestro Murray will be in costume, and you are invited to join in the fun! A costume parade will be held at the start of intermission so you can strut your stuff and show off your costume as you cross the stage while the orchestra plays on!
