Charles Chaplin - The Great Dictator

The Dictator is a visionary film. Released in 1940, the first talking feature film by Charlie Chaplin is a moving appeal to peace. Chaplin plays the double role of a humble Jewish barber as well as a certain thin-mustached despot named Hynkel, who furiously recalls a certain leader Nazi. The scene of the dictator playing with a terrestrial globe or the sublime final speech are some of the legendary scenes of this film whose beautiful music signed by Chaplin himself will be performed live and directed by Timothy Brock.
