Program Info: After several sold-out concerts, the Netherlands Film Orchestra returns to TivoliVredenburg! Get ready for a new concert of film scores from blockbusters such as Skyfall , Toy Story , The Green Mile , Galaxy Quest , Monsters Inc and The Princess and the Frog.
Before the break, the orchestra puts the spotlight on the talented Newman family. Alfred, David, Thomas and Randy have all composed unforgettable music for very diverse films. Think for example of Toy Story , The Green Mile , Monsters Inc. and of course Skyfall .
After the break you can watch a silent film entitled Grandma's Boy by Newmeyer and Lloyd. This successful film from 1922 is a romantic comedy that set the tone for comedic films with compelling characters. The film has many slapstick elements. The Dutch composer Daan van den Hurk composed matching film music for this beautiful classic especially for the Netherlands Film Orchestra.
