Open Rehearsal: 100 Years of Epic Film Scores
Seattle Symphony Orchestra conducted by Steven Reineke - S. Mark Taper Foundation Auditorium - Benaroya Hall
Program Info: Join guest conductor Steven Reineke and your Seattle Symphony for an Open Rehearsal in preparation for performances of 100 Years of Epic Film Scores. Reineke’s deep familiarity with popular music extends to his own compositions, as the creator of more than 100 orchestral arrangements for the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. This program will traverse a century of cinematic soundtracks from the silent era to present day.
Symphony supporters are invited to go behind the scenes at Open Rehearsals throughout the season. At these popular events, you’ll enjoy an insider’s view of a working rehearsal and witness the unique interplay between conductor and musicians that goes into each breathtaking performance with music from such silver-screen classics as Nino Rota - The Godfather Maurice Jarre - Lawrence of Arabia Klaus Badelt / Hans Zimmer - Pirates of the Caribbean Alan Silvestri - The Avengers.
