Thanks to Warner Brothers, some of the merriest melodies and looniest tunes are classical! No kidding. Remember when Elmer Fudd chased Bugs into a theatre? Suddenly the curtain rose, and without missing a beat, that wascally wabbit scored the title role in Rossini’s The Barber (er, Rabbit) of Seville. Or how about the time Bugs showed off his piano-playing prowess with Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody and Fudd took off rabbit hunting with Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries? But th-th-th-that’s not all, folks! There are more cartoon classics in this animated music fest: Raymond Scott’s over-the-top “assembly line” machine music, The Flintstones Meet The Jetsons mashup, and The Duel from John Williams’ score of The Adventures of TinTin, nominated for Best Original Score at the 84th Academy Awards. This concert is a guaranteed yabba dabba doo time! The winner of the South Shore Conservatory Youth Concerto Competition will be the featured soloist.

Program
Gioachino Rossini – The Barber of Seville
Richard Wagner – Ride of the Valkyries
Franz Liszt – Hungarian Rhapsody
John Williams – The Duel from The Adventures of TinTin
Raymond Scott – Powerhouse
Hanna, Barbera, Curtin, arr. Sebesky – The Flintstones Meet The Jetsons
