Oscar for best animated short film in 1984, this cartoon is still broadcast every Christmas on British television today. Inspired by the book by Raymond Briggs, the film wonderfully transcribes all the poetry and wonder aroused by the discovery of a snowy landscape. The film is preceded by the performance of Christmas carols, some of which can be worked on in class.
