In 1928, breaking the barriers between jazz music and symphonic music, the composer George Gershwin delivered with An American in Paris a work of joyful multicolored disorder, profoundly innovative. Nearly a century later, to our great delight, the imaginative pianist Paul Lay revisits it with his trio then offers us his composition as a mirror version with Un Français à New York. A round trip Paris – New York conducted with crazy rhythmic energy by the American conductor JoAnn Falletta . All the majesty of John Williams' melodies bursts forth in the most splendid way in the Star Wars sequel. Drawing his inspiration from Holst, Wagner and Puccini, the composer offers the characters in the saga themes so rich that just by listening to them, the images flash by and propel us into the stars!
