Sommerserenade „Fantasiewelten und Legenden“
Akademisches Orchester Halle conducted by Daniel Spogis - Stiftung Leucorea
Program Info: LEUCOREA musica – Summer Serenade “Fantasy Worlds and Legends”
Open air in the courtyard of the Leucorea Foundation
For its summer concert, the Academic Orchestra once again spans various music genres and combines symphonic music with film music . Under the title “Fantasy Worlds and Legends ”, the first part features music from famous fantasy and adventure films. In the second part, Rachmaninoff's effective, virtuosic “Symphonic Dances” are on the program. These are the composer's last orchestral work from 1940 and were originally intended to be called “Fantastic Dances”; Rachmaninoff combines fast-paced rhythms and dazzling instrumentation with various autobiographical allusions.
Program: Antonín Dvořák: Legends op. 59, No. 1-3 Howard Shore (Arr. John Whitney): “The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring” Joe Hisaishi: ``The Legend of Ashitaka“ Klaus Badelt (arr. Ted Ricketts): “Pirates of the Caribbean” Sergei Rachmaninoff: "Symphonic Dances" op. 45
