Maestro Jules King's Day Concert (Dutch spoken)
Maestro Julesorkest conducted by Jules van Hessen - Concertgebouw, Grote Zaal
Program Info: Maestro Julesorkest Jules van Hessen, conductor Laetitia Gerards, soprano Aidan Mikdad, piano Thorwald Jørgensen, theremin
This year's King's Day concert by Maestro Jules is a festive 'prom' for the whole family. The program includes Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue , well-known film music, but also beautiful opera arias and songs. And then there is the theme from the TV series Midsomer Murders with a leading role for the magical theremin: the only instrument that is played without touching it. In short, 'classic' with a wink. Maestro Jules presents the evening in his own humorous way and conducts his Maestro Jules Orchestra, accompanied by three top Dutch musical talents: singer Laetitia Gerards, pianist Aidan Mikdad and theremin player Thorwald Jørgensen.
Music by, among others, Ennio Morricone, John Williams, George Gershwin ( Rhapsody in Blue ), Georges Bizet ( Carmen ), Franz Lehar, Serge Rachmaninoff and Jacques Offenbach.
