Youth Philharmonic "Sofia" at NMU "Lyubomir Pipkov" conducted by Slavil Dimitrov - Bulgaria Hall
Program Info: One of the most successful projects of "Cantus Firmus" returns with a new program at the "European Music Festival" 2024. For the first time, the Youth Philharmonic "Sofia" at NMU "Lyubomir Pipkov" will participate in the event with its chief conductor, maestro Slavil Dimitrov . The concert was realized in honour of the 120th anniversary of the establishment of the capital music school - the first music school in Bulgaria. The virtuoso pianist Georgi Cherkin will also be on stage, as a soloist and orchestrator of the beloved piano masterpieces included in the program: "Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven, "The Seasons" by Tchaikovsky, Novella No. 1 by Schumann. For fans of film music, there are John Williams' hits from the cult films "Star Wars", "Harry Potter" and "Indiana Jones", and in addition to them we will hear music from the best Bulgarian children's films: "Vasco da Gama from the village of Rupcha", "War of the Hedgehogs", "With Children at the Sea" in orchestrations by Slavil Dimitrov. "European Music Festival" 2024 is organised with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Metropolitan Municipality.
