The Polish Film Music Orchestra conducted by Przemysław Piotr invite you to a concert of film music from the film "The Passion of the Christ" by John Debney entitled "The Passion of Jesus Christ - ORATORIUM", which will take place on March 21, 2024 at Krakow's ICE Congress Center. The concert will be an event during which we will hear the soundtrack and original compositions for the groundbreaking film "The Passion of the Christ", directed by Mel Gibson.
The musical work created by John Debney received a number of awards and nominations, the most important of which was a nomination for an Oscar in the best soundtrack category.
Given such a warm reception of the work by audiences and critics, Debney created an extensive concert work that moves and inspires audiences around the world.
“The Passion of the Christ” director Mel Gibson appreciated the composer's concert work, saying: “John Debney's music for “The Passion of the Christ” transported the film's images to an extraterrestrial dimension. In his Oratorio, John went one step further and created a work that goes beyond orchestration and speaks straight to the heart and soul like a prayer.”
Music from the Oratorio will be performed for the first time in Poland by the Polish Film Music Orchestra together with the 100-person Resonans Con Tutti choir.
The Polish Film Music Orchestra is one of the largest symphony orchestras in Poland, which will perform the concert "THE PASSION OF JESUS CHRIST - JOHN DEBNEY: ORATORIUM" under the leadership of Maestro Przemysław Piotr.
The orchestra consists of outstanding musicians, professionally associated with Polish philharmonics and operas, and giving concerts on a daily basis with leading Polish performers.

"The Passion of the Christ" is a 2004 drama film directed by Mel Gibson. The painting recreates the twelve hours in Jesus' life leading up to his crucifixion. The film received three Oscar nominations in the categories of best music, best cinematography and best make-up.
During the concert, fragments of the film "The Passion of the Christ" by Mel Gibson will be shown.
