A CONCERT THAT WILL MARK THE HISTORY OF FILM MUSIC!
The Bande-Son Symphony Orchestra has decided this year to pay tribute to Elmer Bernstein (1922-2004), giant of American film music, by resurrecting many of his forgotten scores on the occasion of the anniversary of his death .
His career, spanning nearly 50 years, was marked by incredible successes such as The Man with the Golden Arms, The Seven Mercenaries, The Ten Commandments, The Great Escape, Is There a Pilot in the plane? and Ghostbusters .
For its 2024 season, which will mark 10 years of collaboration with Thierry Besançon, artistic director, Bande-Son has decided to pay tribute to this composer and place his most exciting period at the forefront: that of fantasy films.
Your imagination will be taken into space ( Spacehunter, Saturn 3 ), to the Far West ( Wild Wild West ), into an apocalyptic future ( Slipstream ) and even into the crazy universe of comics ( Screaming Metal ). Lord of darkness ( Taram and the Magic Cauldron ), lycanthrope ( The Werewolf of London ) and ectoplasm ( Ghostbusters ) will haunt this colorful concert, which will entertain young and old.
The famous French Martenot wave player, Thomas Bloch, will join the Bande-Son Orchestra and his godfather, Peter Bernstein, for this historic concert! Indeed, most of the suites presented during these concerts will be new.
