It is impossible to imagine the history of Russian cinema without the Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography, headed by Sergei Skripka for the last twenty-odd years.
The legendary group, born back in 1924, recorded music for films by Eisenstein, Pudovkin, Alexandrov, Kozintsev, Pyryev, Chukhrai, Bondarchuk, Danelia and other outstanding Soviet masters, as well as for films by modern directors: Mikhalkov, Konchalovsky, Ursulyak, Fyodor Bondarchuk...
Sergei Prokofiev, Dmitry Shostakovich, Isaac Dunaevsky, Tikhon Khrennikov, Georgy Sviridov, Alfred Schnittke, Eduard Artemyev, Alexey Rybnikov, Gennady Gladkov, Maxim Dunaevsky worked with the cinematography orchestra, David Oistrakh, Emil Gilels, Ivan Kozlovsky, Mstislav Rostropovich, Galina Vishnevskaya performed.
