New Year Concert
Symphoniet Kraków conducted by František Macek - Saski Hotel, Ballroom
Program Info: On the threshold of the New Year, Sinfonietta Cracovia will enchant the most beautiful ballroom in Krakow, filling the space of the Saski Hotel with the rhythm of Viennese waltzes, Argentine tangos and film music. On Twelfth Night, the musicians of the orchestra, conducted by the Czech conductor František Mack, will perform a program of music by Johann Strauss (including the overture to Die Fledermaus and the waltz On the Blue Danube ), as well as melodies known from the films "Scent of a Woman" and "The Promised Land".
The ballroom of the Saski Hotel is an element of Krakow's musical heritage. During the Habsburg monarchy, Liszt and Brahms gave concerts here. Ignacy Jan Paderewski also performed one of the first concerts here. A year ago, the place regained its former glory under the banner of Hotel Saski, thanks to which Krakow's residents can once again enjoy music in such a refined interior.
