Hollywood in Prague: Night of Film Melodies
Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague - Rudolfinum, Dvořák Hall

Program Info:
With the Hollywood in Prague program, the unique Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague takes the stage of a prestigious concert hall in the Czech Republic and invites the audience to a great film journey. The Dvořák Hall of the Prague Rudolfinum will therefore be dominated by the melodies of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters.

Leonardo DiCaprio, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones, Top Gun, Bridget Jonnes's Diary of Deadpool, these are all titles that graced the silver screen and etched themselves into the hearts and memories of viewers of almost all ages categories, not only with their story, but also with brilliant film music. An evening with the famous Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague (BSOP) will remind you of these now classic blockbusters and many more.

During the concert you will hear songs from the immortal films of agent 007 James Bond. During the 85-minute concert there are also melodies from recent film and series hits. These include, for example, the compelling opening number from the fantasy saga Game of Thrones or the unmistakable Bohemian Rhapsody from the biographical film about the band Queen. Viewers of the Simpsons series, which 20 Century Fox made into a movie, will also enjoy it.

The audience can enjoy all this and much more, performed by an orchestra of sixty musicians. Singer Leticie Krotká, soloist of the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague, will also perform. “Film music is unique because it can captivate listeners from different genres and unite viewers of all generations,” says Martin Šanda, chief conductor and director of the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague, who founded this musical ensemble in 2002.

Since then, the orchestra has achieved numerous successes, including several European tours with rock legends Deep Purple, Nazareth, Europa, Alice Cooper, Toto, Survivor, Foreigner, Journey, Bonnie Tyler, Uriah Heep and others. He can also boast of collaborations on projects with the Swedish band Sabaton, the British band Kosheen, 2Cellos, the famous Spanish opera singer José Carreras or the singing group The Tenors and Il Volo. The list of star names that had something to do with the Prague orchestra is very extensive. Violinist Vanessa Mae, singer Sarah Brightman and three-time Grammy winner Michael Bublé are also worth mentioning.

The orchestra also gave a number of classical concerts throughout Europe, as well as touring Japan and China. On the Czech scene, BSOP presents, among other things, a number of subscription concerts in the town hall in Prague.
