Who doesn't know him, the mysterious ET? Steven Spielberg's masterpiece has been enchanting young and old since 1982. John Williams' world-famous, Oscar-winning film music makes a decisive contribution to this.
What began in 1974 is now entering its fifth decade in 2024: the collaboration between composer John Williams and director Steven Spielberg. The City Light Symphony Orchestra is taking this anniversary as an opportunity to honour the outstanding work of these two Hollywood giants in several concerts - including the live performance of "ET - The Extra-Terrestrial".
Steven Spielberg's classic "ET - The Extra-Terrestrial" tells of the extraordinary friendship between the 10-year-old, headstrong Elliott and ET, the kind-hearted extraterrestrial who lost his way to Earth. It soon becomes clear that the extraterrestrial visitor does not want to and cannot stay among us earth-lings, which is why Elliott and his friends help him escape from shady government men and return to his fellows.
“ET” is fast-paced, scary, mysterious, funny and heartwarming at the same time. These broad emotions are masterfully elevated by composer John Williams' multi-faceted and Oscar-winning score.
