The RSO Vienna has a particularly varied program in store for the Chinese concert audience on its China tour in 2024. At the RSO Vienna's podium is the British conductor and pianist Wayne Marshall, who will also sit at the piano for Gershwin's famous "Rhapsody in Blue" - as the composer once did at the premiere in 1924. In “An American in Paris,” Gershwin musically processed his own impressions during a stay in Paris. The second part of the concert program is dedicated to the film music by John Williams. A special highlight of this tour are the extraordinary concert halls: half of the venues in the six Chinese cities were only opened in the last ten years and so the RSO Vienna is making its debut in the houses in Taiyuan, Nanjing and Changsha.
