Musician's Journey: Beginner to Adult
Civic Symphony of Green Bay - Walter Theatre at St. Norbert College

Program Info:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star Variations
Niccolò Paganini - Theme from Witches’ Dance
Georges Bizet - Farandole
Reinhold Glière - Russian Sailors’ Dance
Béla Bartók - Romanian Folk Dances
Alexander Borodin - Polovtsian Dances
Benjamin Britten - The Young Person's Guide to the orchestra, opus 34 (composed in 1946 to accompany an educational film produced by the British government and featured in the Oscar-nominated film Moonlight Kingdom)

We are collaborating with several local school groups, including the Suzuki Music Academy of Green Bay, De Pere Middle School Orchestra, East High School Orchestra, and the St. Norbert College String Orchestra. The concert will demonstrate the progression from beginner groups to the college level, and how a student’s musical journey can continue well into adulthood. The second half of the program will showcase the winners of the Pansky Concerto Competition, plus a finale with the Civic Symphony of Green Bay performing Britten’s The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra.
