Do you remember the 1980s? The fact that the computer games of that time, which initially seemed quite clumsy, have now become an art form that is very well respected in wide circles (and commercially immensely successful) is not least due to the music. Similar to the great fantasy epics of Hollywood, lush symphonic sounds accompany the events here: mythical creatures, heroes fighting with ancient weapons, rocking ships and cities of the Middle Ages growing up as if by magic would only be half as impressive if not for cleverly composed music. In the beginning this was still monotonously archaic-modal, but the range has increased significantly. This can be impressively experienced with "Final Fantasy", "Journey", the 1980s classic "The Great Giana Sisters" and others.
