Neue Philharmonie Westfalen conducted by John Jesenski - Rudolf Weber Arena
Program Info: John Williams - Star Wars: A New Hope
The Star Wars saga, thought through down to the last detail by George Lucas, revolutionised Hollywood's film landscape and has lost none of its charm to this day. With its mythical story, ompelling characters, and groundbreaking special effects, the space epic has become an icon of American culture. The Neue Philharmonie Westfalen will perform John Williams' Oscar-, Golden Globe- and Grammy-winning music while showing the full film on a giant screen.
In Star Wars: A New Hope, the galaxy falls under the savage rule of the Empire after the Jedi Knights were defeated. Only one rebel group, led by Princess Leia, succeeds in stealing the blueprints for the Death Star and throwing the Empire into turmoil. The plans reach the old Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, who takes up the fight against the Empire with his apprentice Luke Skywalker and the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca. An adventure of life and death begins as Darth Vader is on their trail to prevent the destruction of the Death Star.
