Pirates and seafarers (family concert, from 6 years)
Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal conducted by Magdalena Klein - Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal
Program Info: Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal Magdalena Klein, conductor Christian Schruff, moderation Thomas Braus, pirate
"Get ready to board!" The waves are high, it's getting stormy, we're spinning sailor's yarn - and we're singing and playing a famous sea shanty. Pirates (and pirate women!) are wild, know no fear! They search for treasures on the seas, make rich booty and celebrate happily. That's how we imagine the stories of Captain Schwarzbart, Störtebecker or Jack Sparrow and know them from films - Pirates of the Caribbean, for example. We don't just tell about pirates, but also about the 'Flying Dutchman'. He's cursed, has to sail through storms and waves forever. We will find out whether he will be redeemed at the family concert, for which everyone can dress up appropriately.
With music by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Richard Wagner, Klaus Badelt & Ralph Vaughan Williams
