Program Info: The now world-famous music from the Harry Potter films will be performed in this concert in the suite compiled by composer John Williams. The catchy main theme lies in the tonal representation of the magic world.
"The Sorcerer's Apprentice" by Paul Dukas is a stroke of genius. In his programmatic composition, he pulls out all the tonal registers to stage Goethe's ballad in an impressive musical way.
Music Director and Artistic Director Johannes Rieger introduces the students to the compositional peculiarities of the works in the usual humorous way. He will focus primarily on the instrumentation and the intellectual connections to the text.
