Rewarded with a Jerry Goldsmith Award for his music for Terre des ours , a film by Vincent Guillaume co-produced by James Cameron with the voice of Marion Cotillard, Fabien Cali continues his residency at the Orchester symphonique de Mulhouse by revisiting the classics of one of the most famous comic duos in the history of cinema.
These new scores offer the view of a creator of our time on these three medium-length films, nearly a century after their production. Fabien Cali's choice fell on three contrasting atmospheres allowing him to deploy his sound universe nourished as much by classical repertoire as by current music. In Liberty , two escaped prisoners defy the laws of gravity atop a skyscraper under construction. Although gloomy at first glance, the nocturnal visit to a cemetery in Habeas corpus will nonetheless retain the characteristic humour of this tandem. Finally, the two friends will put on the clothes of musicians in You're Darn Tootin and will sow confusion within their orchestra by fighting against the wind which carries away their scores. Good humour guaranteed!
