Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel
Prague Royal Philharmonic conducted by Heiko Mathias Förster - Isarphilharmonie, Gasteig HP8

Program Info:
Karel Svoboda - Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel

For some, roasted almonds are part of the Christmas season, for others it has to be hazelnuts - exactly three of them. Fairy tale fans' eyes should already light up, as these nuts are the three most important magic tools in one of the world's most beautiful fairy tale films. Since its theatrical premiere in 1973 in what was then Czechoslovakia, »Three Nuts for Cinderella« has been broadcast in over 50 countries around the world and brings a bit of fairy tale magic into our living rooms every year at Christmas time.

This winter, the beautiful Cinderella and her prince can once again look forward to a very special stage: the Cologne Philharmonic is transformed into the scene of the enchanting love story. While the fairy tale film takes its course on a big screen, the film soundtrack by Czech composer Karel Svoboda is played live by a large symphony orchestra and almost lets the audience become visitors to the court ball themselves. And if you look very closely, you might even discover a dainty shoe on one of the steps...
