Blancanieves de Pablo Berger en ciné-concert
Musiciens de l'ONPL - Quatuor de musiciens Flamenco - Théâtre Graslin
Program Info: Film de Pablo Berger ● Blancanieves, 2013 Music by Alfonso de Vilallonga (born in 1960) ● ONPL Musicians - Flamenco Quartet
Paying homage to silent cinema, Pablo Berger brilliantly transposes Blancanieves, the tale of the Brothers Grimm, in Andalusia in the 1920s. The orphan taken in by dwarf bullfighters, straight out of Tod Browning's Freaks, turns into a magnificent bullfighter playing banderillas in the heart of the bullring of Seville. The narration of this black and white silent film is led by an exceptional score composed by Alfonso de Vilallonga . An absolute masterpiece in which Andalusian rhythms and flamenco tunes, played live by the musicians of the ONPL led on the wire by the conductor Clément Lonca , transport us to the heart of a veritable symphony where the music speaks for the characters.
