● With Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy - Music composed by Cyrille Aufort (world premiere) - Jean Deroyer, direction
Laurel and Hardy are one entity, one body divided in two, the lean and the fat, the cunning and the clumsy, the tall and the short. Between them, they create the perfect imbalance and allow us to discover the early days of American burlesque cinema with three short films shot at the very beginning of their career, between 1927 and 1929. Three strokes of genius set to music by Cyrille Aufort . Here the notes fly like cream pies and we laugh to tears in front of the gags and the clumsiness of this shock tandem which brings up to date the silent cinema. A funny and nostalgic cine-concert to open the doors of a forgotten world in which music replaces words.
