Dracula
Cameron Carpenter, organ - Konzertsaal im Kulturpalast Dresden
Program Info: Sheer horror - with his silent film "Nosferatu" Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau brought the horror shocker par excellence to the screen more than a hundred years ago. Underlaid with the music of Hans Erdmann. However, this music is lost - so it makes sense to leave the musical accompaniment to the improvisational art of our palace organist Cameron Carpenter. He uses all 4109 pipes of the concert hall organ to paint in the most dramatic colours the story of Count Orlok, a vampire from the Carpathians and his love for the beautiful Ellen. Incidentally, it was based on the novel “Dracula” by Bram Stoker, and the film was shot in Wismar, among other places, because the action takes place in a port city.
